Pick a book that you have enjoyed reading and answer the following questions.

  1. If you were going to interview this character/author, which questions would you ask?
  2. Which is your favourite part? Why?
  3. Who would you like to meet most in the story? Why?
  4. What do you think would happen next if the story carried on past the ending of the book?
  5. Who was the storyteller? How do you know?
  6. Predict what you think is going to happen next. Why do you think this?

  1. A spider is climbing up a 30 metre building. Each day it climbs five metres and slides back one metre. How many days will it take to reach the top?
  2. Jacob is building a Lego figure. It takes him one and a half seconds to join two pieces. How long will it take him to join nine pieces into one long strip?

 

  1. Which is longer 2100hours or 22 weeks?

Write a letter to someone you are missing during this time in lockdown. It could be your grandparents, a cousin or even one of your friends from school.

Remember to include the features of an informal letter:

• your address and date in the top right of the page

• start with a greeting (Dear_____,)

• introduction to tell them why you are writing to them

• write in paragraphs

• finish with an informal sign off (best wishes/yours truly) and your name Maths

1. A garden is in the shape of a rectangle. The total perimeter of the garden is 30 metres.  If the breadth is 3 m. What is the length?

2. Which is longer 3200hours or 19 weeks?

3. 10% of A = B 

      5%of B=C 

     20%of C = D    

If A=6000 can you work out    what B,C and D is ?

This Sunday is the feast of Pentecost. On this day, we celebrate the disciples receiving the Holy Spirit. Pentecost happened 50 days after Easter Sunday.

The Witches Cauldron Challenge- The witch needs a 24-leg potion to turn her Maths teacher into a frog. She's got Spiders (8 legs) Lizards (4 legs) and Bats (2 legs)

Try to find all the possible spells to turn her Maths teacher into a frog! e.g. 2 spiders, 1 lizard and 2 bats would do the trick.

Be systematic and draw up and ordered list. Make a table of your results. Look for a pattern.

Music- Create your own guitar at home

Using tissue boxes, shoe boxes without the lids or fruit punnets you can create a string-type instrument.

Use the box for the base of the instrument and take four to six rubber bands. Wrap the rubber bands around the base, the long way, and make sure there is space between the rubber bands. Experiment with ways of making sounds with the bands
